UX Methodology in Action: A Portfolio from Thomas Watkins

Overview

This portfolio will highlight a few focused examples of work I’ve done in my career.

The first section – “A Great Product is Born” – will illustrate my exact approach and method for building successful products.  It will focus on the launching of “The Knomatic Studio”, which is my most recent professional accomplishment.  The work I did on this project is illustrative and representative on the kinds of work I’ve produced throughout my career.

The second section – “Visualizing Business Intelligence” – will showcase a skill area I possess that is rare (unfortunately) to find among UX practitioners: data visualization.  Most of the work I’ll show will be rough wireframes of visualizations that were later rendered in to higher fidelity products.  (The screenshots will lack just enough detail to make them appropriate to share, from a proprietary perspective).

The third section – “Thought Leadership” – will give a few examples of my involvement with, and contributions to the wider UX community.  I’ve benefited enormously from great educators in my life, and I love using my career to empower other professionals.

The last section – “Final Remarks” – will tie together all the ideas featured throughout this portfolio.
